Apparently, winter is not over and Mother Nature made that abundantly clear over the past few days. Temperatures in the single digits and teens with brutal winds that makes it feel ten times colder. I swear it feels like this has been the coldest weather all winter. I had quite a few runs in 3 or 4 degrees back in January and it wasn’t even as bad as it was yesterday. That wind! Brrrrr!!
Thankfully, the weather for next week looks better. I want spring running back.
Speaking of running…I’ve got a problem. Kind of. Hopefully, not.
After my hill repeats on Wednesday, my right ankle/foot (the foot that does not have the old injury) has felt weird. When I point my toes, it’s tight/slightly painful on the top of my foot. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to run my long run on Friday but it was absolutely fine during the run.
Since then, I’ve been stretching and rolling my calves like crazy. I’ve also been icing my whole foot throughout the day, every day. I even took a cross training day Saturday just to play it safe. As of right now (Saturday night), I’m not sure if I’ll take another cross training day on Sunday or go for a run just to be extra safe.
Fingers crossed this tightness thing goes away asap!
It’s Sunday, so time for meal planning. After a week off from school and work, I’m ready to get back to the usual routine.
Sunday: Salmon + Massaged Kale with Roasted Butternut Squash
Tuesday: Grass Fed Beef Enchiladas
Thursday: Two Bean Veggie Chili
Friday: Kale Pesto Pizza
Saturday: Wing it!
What’s for dinner at your house this week?
