What’s Beautiful?

As you all know by now, I have a HUGE goal coming up in 16 short days. Running  a full marathon has been on my goal list for two years and it’s finally becoming a reality. Of course, I still need to actually run the race but just making it this far in training feels so good.

I’m partnering up with FitFluential and Under Armour in a sponsored campaign to help spread the word about this amazing movement. I want you to be inspired and join as well!

Under Armour just launched their third edition of the What’s Beautiful campaign. I actually participated in the first one last year and loved the challenges to help get me to success. So what is this campaign all about? It’s a competition to redefine the female athlete. This campaign is all about encouraging and empowering women to set goals no matter how big or small! It’s about finding your inner athlete and letting it shine. Chasing your dreams no matter what.

We’ve all got goals to crush – let’s do it together!

So set a goal for yourself. Think BIG! Pick something that’s been in the back of your mind for years but you just didn’t think you could do it. Start running, give up the dinky weights and lift heavy, run a marathon, do a headstand or learn to be happy in your skin. No goal is too big or small!

Here are my goals:

I WILL: Run my first marathon under 4 hours

I WILL: Run my first in real life 5k

I WILL: Run a trail race of any distance this summer

I WILL: Achieve a 1:45 Half Marathon

Are you ready to join me in this challenge?  Sign up here. There UA will continually post challenges for you to keep on track. You can join as an individual or with a team. I’ve joined quite a few. Every week swag bags of UA gear will be given out to the ladies who are getting after it the most. The grand prize is for three winners to Costa Rica to attend a four-day yoga and surf retreat. Ummm…yes please!!

Speaking of goals…

My friend Sarah has a huge goal she would like to crush. I think it’s absolutely amazing and would love to help her reach it.

Here’s Sarah in her own words:

“I will be announcing my plan to run the CHaD (Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth) Half-Marathon in October. Ever since we started receiving care at CHaD I knew I wanted to run this race. I knew I wanted to raise as much money as possible so that other families, just like ours, can continue to benefit from the excellent care and family support services that the hospital provides. The race raises funds for several aspects of family support provided by the hospital. Some of which we have benefited directly from as a family, like Molly’s Place which is a playroom/livingroom area that provided a place for our family to wait for appointments: Sophia played, I could nurse Jack peacefully.”

“I have two goals for this race: to raise $5000 and to place in the top in the top five women. Which means running a time of 1:35 or less. I get butterflies in my stomach when I think of channeling all the emotions I’ve felt through our experience with Jack’s surgery towards running hard and helping other families.”

Would you please help Sarah, Jack and everyone else who will benefit from this generous goal in raising money for CHaD? Then head on over to her blog and help spread the word Let’s get support Sarah in reaching her goal!

What are your goals?

What will it take to achieve it?

  1. Love your goals and this campaign! So inspiring! While I am a runner, my goal is about getting over the mental barrier and fear I have of Crossfit. I’m hoping in the end it will make me stronger. 🙂

  2. LOVE IT! 16 days?! Our first marathons are pretty close (mine is June 23rd)…so fun! Great team and idea and I am in total support of you! Our goals are so similar too…I’ve never trained specifically for a half and can run about a 1:52 ish fairly easily – I’d love to hit 1:45 and my “secret” goal is to run under 4 hrs for my first full too – but I’m not sure if I can! I wish I could run with you and pace! You seem confident – I LOVE it! Would love to hear a little more about your race strategy to tackle your first under 4 hours – or maybe you could direct me to a post if you’ve already written about it.

Just wanted to say I’m in your corner! Go for it!

  3. I am impressed with your goals! No holding back there :-). I love the What’s Beautiful campaign, and I’m excited to be joining so many awesome women who are challenging themselves in so many ways. You will crush those goals! (I think it’s funny that you will have run a marathon before your first 5k–my husband did the same thing)

  4. I think the UA campaign is a great idea! I love your goals and I know that you will do what it takes to get there (you already have what it takes you just gotta get there!).

Some current goals: Marathon #5 next weekend (no time goal right now), My first 70.3 in July and I am doing Marathon #6 in October with a goal of sub 3:20. 🙂 Go big or go home I guess.

Biggest current goal though is just to get stronger mentally and physically. Focusing on stretching more and taking better care of myself.
