Under Armour Sports Bra Giveaway!

Hi everyone!

Let’s start this week off right with a GIVEAWAY!

The nice people at Under Armour recently contacted me about doing a review and giveaway for one of their products. I chose the Armour Bra. Did you know the life expectancy of a sports bra is 6 months to 1 year? I’m very guilty of not replacing mine as often as I should. In fact, I think I have some that are at least 8 years old!

Now, I don’t have the largest chest and I’m not the smallest. But I do like to have everything “locked and loaded” when I’m running or doing high impact workouts. I also like the bra to stay in place. Nothing is worse than having to pull and tug at your sports bra while doing burpees or running hill repeats. The Armour Bra was specifically designed for all sizes of breasts with the help of a doctor of women’s biomechanics. It’s sized by band and cup – no small, medium, large – for a better, more comfortable fit.

Here’s the specifics:

  • Bonded seams eliminate painful rubbing and chafing
  • Removable, molded cups deliver modesty, support, and a streamlined silhouette
  • Straps built with UA’s SuperStretch technology that eliminates digging
  • Signature Moisture Transport System wicks sweat away from the body
  • 4-Way Stretch construction improves range of motion and dries faster

I put the bra to the test during my 11 mile run on Saturday. When I first put it on, I was a little surprised by the back. It has a hook clasp but also a key hole cut out.

It was a little awkward to put on but I figured it out. Immediately I noticed it felt great. Not too much compression. (Have you ever tried to run with a super duper tight compression bra? Not fun!) I also noticed that the material was soft. It reminded me of my favorite running tights.

I took off running and didn’t think about the bra again. At all. No bounce. No adjusting the straps or chest band. Since it was a really wet, rainy day, I thought for sure I’d have chaffing somewhere around the straps or band. Nothing!

I love this sports bra! My only complaint is that it’s expensive. The Armour Bra retails for $57.99. I generally don’t like to pay that much for sports bras. I will, however, keep an eye out for any deals at a cheaper price.

So…How would you like to win your own Armour Bra from Under Armour?

One lucky reader will win an Armour Bra (their choice of size)!

To enter, simply leave a comment telling me the age of your oldest sports bra. If you are guy and don’t wear a sports bra, just tell me what day it is. 🙂

For an extra entry, post the following message to twitter (and leave a separate comment that you did):

“My sports bra is old! I want to win an Armour Bra from @happyfitmama and @UnderArmour http://wp.me/p2gk1o-Mu #giveaway #fitness #workout”

Giveaway ends Thursday, December 13 @ 10 p.m. Winner will be announced Friday, December 14 on the blog.

Good luck!

I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.

  1. For me, it is a combination of tye no compression and less “bounciness”… Lol.
My sports bra is 4 yo. But I cannot find one that I really, really like in my price range, so, good or bad, I am stuck with mine. Would love to win this one 🙂

  2. I am a little embarrassed, but my oldest sports bra is over 10 years old…I don’t wear it to run (just for strength training), but it’s so soft and comfy, I can’t part with it. The Under Armour looks awesome for running

  3. My oldest is probably…..7 years old?? Ya know, when the elastic doesn’t even really work anymore, THAT old. I’d love to have something more fitted than the usual Small/Med/Large! I also tweeted!

  4. Embarrassed to say my oldest is at least 10yrs old, but I don’t wear it that often. Low impact activity for sure. I could use an update!

  5. My bra is probably about 4 years old now. I got it at lululemon and liked it in the beginning, but it has always been a little on the tight side and to be honest I’m in need of something better… After losing 40lbs my boobs just don’t fit my older clothes quite the same lol :p

  6. HAHA this is great!! I think my favorite sports bra is about 4 years old!! I have a new one that is only about 4 months old but it doesn’t keep me “locked and loaded” – I would LOVE to try this one out!

  7. My oldest sports bra is at least 4 years old…maybe 5! I positively HATE shopping for sports bras. Most of them are just really uncomfortable.

  8. I have a sports bra from 1999! I was still in college when I bought it. I use it to double up (or triple up!) under a newer one, since I am nursing and my ‘girls’ are much bigger than in their normal state.

Pick me! I have to use excessive amounts of Body Glide every time I run!

  9. Oops, I just did the math and I think mine is about twelve years old. I guess it’s about time to replace it.

  10. The age of my oldest sports bra is only about 6 months, but it’s too big. They are all too big. After I eliminated wheat from my diet my boobs pretty much disappeared! And I’ve just been too cheap to buy new ones.

  11. My oldest one is about 12 years old. It has no padding left and I never wear it but for some reason can’t throw it out.

  12. Hmmm, my son is now 12 y/o.. so that makes my oldest bra 10 y/o ! (Oh dear. Just made me realize why I still have it.)

  13. I’m the smallest bra size possible, and you would think that would make it easier to find sports bras that work, but I still find that not everything works as well as advertized. So I’m hopeful to try this one! My oldest is 5 years old. (But I only keep it around for back-up, and hardly ever have to use it.)

  14. I don’t even know how old some of mine are- that’s how old they are! I have trouble throwing them away though. I have no idea why I just don’t donate them! Thank you for this awesome giveaway. UA is my gear of choice but funny enough I don’t have a sports bra from them. It would be great to win one on my birthday!!

  15. Ah, I’d have to say that the back of my drawer is full of sports bras that are at least 4 years old! But, I’ve only been wearing my new ones recently.

  16. I know that they are a year old, but could be older. I’ve been thinking that it is probably time to replace them.

  17. Wow, I’m ashamed to say that I have 3 old Victoria’s Secret brand sports bras that are at least 8+ years old!! But they are so comfy!

  18. My oldest Sports bra is 7 years old! AHH lol Senior year of High School… I think my most recent one is like 6 months to one year though so I’m due… Thanks for doing this!

  19. I can’t even remember how old they are. I have two of the same brand that I bought at the same time…it’s gotta be like 10 years… It’s time for a new one for sure!

  20. my oldest is probably 10 years old. I finally threw a bunch out last year, thankfully!

I have one I use all the time and am in desperate need of another…. Sounds like the perfect one!

  21. I popped out 3 kids in 5 years all while maintaining 20-40 miles a week of running for 9 months of each pregnancy so I have quite a collection of worn out bras in various sizes and none of them fit right!

  22. I think my oldest sports bra is from my high school days..6 years old. And unfortunately, I still wear it! I could absolutely use a new sports bra 🙂

  23. I literally just went through my underwear, sock and sports bra drawer to downsize and oh man was I surprised! I have underwear that I bought during winter break of my 1st year of college… in 2003. 9 year old underwear!!! Sadly I had socks that old and a sports bra from earlier in 2003 when I used to have to double bag the ladies. SO glad I got wise last year and bought a good one! But at 9.5 years old, the sports bra is now on its way to stretched cotton heaven!

  24. My oldest sport bra is about 4 year old. I have big boobies and have trouble finding real good spot bras for high impact sports. Maybe this Bra will be the answer!

  25. My sports bras are over 2 years old. They’re wore out and I’m in need of a new one. Please!!!!

  26. My oldest sports bra is about 5 or 6 years old. It’s held up pretty well, but I know it doesn’t have much more time.

  27. My oldest is from high school– keep in mind that I just had my 10 year reunion!! I don’t wear those to work out but just to wear around home.
