Random Friday

Hey friends!

Can I just say that I’m extra excited for it to be Friday? I woke up yesterday morning absolutely positive it was Saturday. What a let down to realize it was only Thursday. Talk about a buzz killer!

I had some sad news yesterday. My 98 year old grandmother passed away in the morning. She had not been doing well for quite awhile so it’s a blessing that she is no longer suffering but it’s still hard. She was a strong Italian woman that absolutely despised cheese. ๐Ÿ™‚ When we were in Michigan a few weeks ago, I visited her in the nursing home and basically got to say goodbye. I’m hoping to maybe make it to the funeral but plane fare is just ridiculous.

My mind is kind of all over the place right now so I thought I’d share random things I’ve found on the internet over the past week that have been interesting to me.

Welcome to Random Friday!

To Parents of Small Children

I love this! Parenting standards are sky high and it’s unrealistic to think we all can be superparents 100% of the time. While I love my children dearly, there are just some days that I retreat to the bathroom, lock the door and decompress for a minute or two.ย  Favorite quote: “Breathe in. Breathe out. You are not alone.”

Yoga Mat for Sale on Craigslist

A real ad that was posted after someone had high expectations before their first hot yoga class. Guess they didn’t go back for another class. ๐Ÿ™‚

Sympathy Cards for Runners

This made my day. Especially after my most recent whining and the my first ever “I gotta poo now!” during the marathon.

Spirit of the Marathon II

Theaters around the country are doing screenings of the new film on June 12th. I still haven’t seen the first. I got teary eyed just watching the trailer. Makes me want to start training all over again for another marathon. Well maybe not RIGHT now…

Any other Random Friday thoughts?

  2. I”m very sorry to hear about your grandmother. What a grand old age she lived to, though, and how great that you just got to see her.

I loved the first Spirit of the Marathon, so I’m excited for number two!

    1. Thanks Carrie. I just ran my first marathon 2 weeks ago and had a less than stellar experience and I still got teary eyed at the clip. I’m a sucker for running stories!

  3. I’m so sorry about to hear about your grandmother. I’m glad that you had a chance to see her when you were in Michigan. I didn’t know that Italians were incapable of loving cheese ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m with you. My mind is all over the place. I read that first article to parents of small children this week or last week and it was great. Definitely needed it!! Take care, OK and have a good weekend.

    1. Thank you so much for the thoughts and energy! Great idea on the countdown! I gotta watch the first before Wednesday. That’s my mission for the weekend.

    1. Thank you Kim. Hot yoga is such a great idea but it really isn’t for everyone. Although I think everyone will get a kick out of the ad. Dude seriously did NOT like it to write such a long ad!

  5. Random comment: The sympathy cards are killing me… so funny! The SOTM2 looks amazeballs, can’t wait to see it, wish I could go with all of my bloggie runner friends. On another note, bet when we all go to see this movie, the line at the bathroom will long… what is it with runners and poo? I can answer that, I’ve haven’t run in 10 days (the first time in 8 years) I am completely constipated, who knew that that was a side effect? What other group of people so openly discusses their bodily functions? Wonder if that topic will be part of the movie… just a thought… should we bring our own TP? crazy
