Fall is in full force here in New Hampshire! As much as I hate to see the warm weather leave, I really do love all the colors.
Now that I got through Smuttynose last weekend, I’m ready to get back into real training for my next half in November. Since my return to running, I’ve lost quite a bit of speed. Partly it’s because I’ve been trying to be conservative and not push too much too soon. I feel I’m ready to get back into my weekly tempo and speed runs.
I’ve had great success with Smart Coach previously so I’m going with it again. I like having a plan so I know the days, distances and pace for each workout. No thinking. Just doing.
In other running news, I’ve got a new running buddy! I don’t really mind running by myself but now that it’s super dark and getting cold in the morning, some company would be nice. So I had the idea to post a message on the Coastal Athletic Association’s FB page to see if anyone in my area was crazy enough to run at 4:30 or 5 a.m. with me a couple a days a week. For about a week, I got no response. Nothing. Then, magically, someone responded! And then another and another! Woohoo! This week, only one of the ladies was able to run so we agreed to meet. Joanne is awesome! The miles flew by. Things went so great we were going to meet up on Thursday, too. Ironically, the one time I’m supposed to meet someone to run, I turn my alarm OFF in the middle of the night. I don’t even use an alarm when I run by myself. D’Oh! I woke up at the time we were supposed to be meeting. I felt HORRIBLE! Thankfully, I got in touch with Joanne soon after so she didn’t think I was ditching her or kidnapped. She forgave me and we have plans to maybe do our long run together this weekend or at least have a standing date to run on two mornings during the week. Yay!!!
October Yoga Challenge
This month I’m doing Grow Soul Beautiful‘s fun yoga challenge on instagram.
It’s been so fun! I really wish I could get outside to take some more inventive pictures but by the time Ron or I are home, it’s way too dark. Here’s what the first few days looked like:
I’m linking up with Jill for Fitness Friday!
Have a great weekend!
