It feels kind of odd that I’m not writing a race or remembrance run recap today. After three weekends in a row of them (HERE, HERE, and HERE if you missed it), I was ready for no place to be and running on my own time. So in celebration of that, I give you the Marvelous is…list.
Marvelous is…September. I always forget how awesome the month is. The weather is relatively perfect – not too hot, not too cold, mostly blue skies, apples, pumpkins, cozy blankets, sweaters…simply marvelous.
Marvelous is…the amazing smell of deliciousness while making Apple Pie Chia Jam.
Marvelous is…finally feeling like my foot/ankle is getting better (for real this time). Last week’s workouts were relatively free of it feeling different (it’s not pain, just noticeable). My mileage is creeping up and I’m feeling confident that my half marathon goal is in reach.
Marvelous is…a wooded area with no houses around just when you need it while out on a run and you GOTTA GO! (You’re welcome for not sharing any pics of that pretty scene). The scratches on your legs from the picky bushes getting to said spot…not so marvelous. If you are a runner, you absolutely know what I’m talking about. GI issues happen. It’s not a big deal AND it happens to all of us at least once (or more). It’s all part of the life of a runner.
Marvelous is…learning to love running in the rain again. Sunday I woke up to heavy rain. Prior to VCM, I would’ve thought nothing of it and ran outside no matter if it was a light rain or coming down in buckets. But after that race, I hated it. So many bad memories of just being miserable. I started off on my treadmill but after 2 miles I wanted to poke my eyes out. I decided it was time to suck it up and face the rain. Thankfully the rain had turned to a drizzle and the temperatures were warm (60s). Now that is the kind of run I like to do in the rain!
Thanks to Katie for hosting Marvelous in My Monday (MIMM) because we could all use a little bit more marvelous today.
What is marvelous in your life?
