Marvelous is…

Hello everybody!

Hope all the Mamas, to humans and fur babies, had a fantasticly marvelous  Mother’s Day!

Mine was quite lovely. I’m carrying the good vibes with me into the new week with a little marvelous is…list style. Thanks Katie for the link up!

Marvelous is…Running a 5k race with my family. I couldn’t have been more proud of my kids. Our plan for a no pressure, fun run was a success. They surprised me with how fast they ran, their stamina and determination. And the smiles. Oh the smiles! It was so awesome. They took rest breaks in the stroller as needed and barked out orders for me to RUN FASTER as I pushed them. Then they would jump back out, refreshed and ready to pump their little legs and arms. As my son proclaimed numerous times, they were “Running Rock Stars!”

Marvelous is…Ron running in the race too! I was completely shocked when he agreed to run. I think he was shocked too. He asked me numerous times – It’s a 5k right? 3.1 miles? Another Running Rock Star!

Marvelous is…Getting 3 out of 5 items from my Mother Runner’s Wish List.

Family run – check.

Family nap – check (in separate beds, right Lisa?!).

Massage – check. The massage hasn’t happened yet. I bought myself a Living Social deal. I just wish I could have bought more than one!

Marvelous is…Sunshine, warmth, green grass, blue skies, family and a picnic at the park. I even got to spend some quality alone time with my fur kid.

  1. WOW! That is the best mom’s day ever!! I love all the pictures – your whole family is adorable. I also love that your husband ran it too (and kept asking about the distance) so funny. I bet my hubs wouldn’t pass up a chance to run with our boys…thanks for the idea 🙂
    Enjoy that massage!!

  2. OMG! What an AWESOME day for you! We haven’t been brave enough to attempt a family 5K but we are going to do it this fall. For sure! Happy Belated Mother’s Day! PS. I love how we can never get a picture with everyone looking the same way 🙂

    1. You should definitely do the family race. It was a blast! So the whole, no one look in the same direction picture thing hangs on for years? Fabulous!

  3. Sounds like a great weekend and Mother’s Day. Love that the whole family did the 5K together! So awesome. Jasper recently did a walkathon with his school. I think that they walked 2 miles and he was so proud of himself. I mean, he walks that much regularly but I think that the anticipation and build-up to the “event!” got to him. I got to play baseball, football and freeze tag with the kids.

  4. Your kids are rockstars!! I can’t wait to do something like this as a family one day. After more than a week away from home (and a hormonal, emotional Saturday for this lady), hubby made dinner for us last night when we got back. That was beyond marvelous!

  5. What a great day ! Mother’s Day in France is in 2 weeks…. but I still had a great weekend. Family movie + dinner to discuss it. With teenage girls we hardly ever have that much time together as a family. It was great !

  6. I love that you and your family did a 5k together for mothers day, also love the after naps 🙂

I didn’t get to see my mom for mothers day this year (she was out of town) but it was my only day off for the week from both jobs so I was able to run a 5k race to benefit the local Breast cancer Coalition and then get some extra miles in before going to the gym and laying by the pool. Some much needed R&R!

  7. Seems like you had a great Mother’s day! How fun you all did the race 🙂 My husband joined me for two runs this week – with our daughter in the stroller – and it was so much fun to have a running partner. Can’t wait until we all do a race together.

    Your kids did great!
