Marathon Training Recap – Week 6

Hey Friends! How was your weekend? Mine was good.

On Saturday we stocked up on fresh veggies for the week at the Farmer’s Market while the kiddos danced away to the band, Todo Bien. They are a really great band that reminds me of Jack Johnson – very chill music. The kids danced so well that the band rewarded us with a CD of their music. I’ve been listening to it nonstop in the car.

We also went all hippie and tie-dyed a bunch of stained white t-shirts.

Why do I buy white t’s for my kids? They stay white for 30 seconds before something gets it dirty. One day I’ll learn!

Sunday brought my long run of the week – 16 miles. Another milestone distance that I’ve never seen. I was up by 5 a.m. and planned to get in as many miles as I could before I met up with a new run club. I ran 6 miles solo before meeting up with the group. Ten sweaty miles later, I had done it! A new PDR!

  1. Great job and a nice new shiny PDR!! I’m not sure why I buy white t-shirts for my kids either. They are either stained after the first wear or else I never put them on the kids because I don’t want them to get stained! PS – love your new header!

  2. NIce work on the distance PR! And way to go getting up so early. I wish I had that kind of energy right now:-) BTW your new blog header looks awesome!

  3. Congrats on your 16!! LOVE the tie-dye idea… we’ll have to get some white tees to do that. 🙂 And I love the new header! I was just working on mine this weekend too, it needs a serious revamping…but it’s not ready. What program do you like for collages? I’m dating a few, but haven’t been in love with any yet.

  4. Getting in miles before the group run is an excellent way to conquer new distances and feed off the energy of running with others. That is a staple for my training, someitmes getting in 10 before 10 more with the group. It helps so much having the ability to break a run into parts and attainable goals.
