Lately…I’m so thankful to be living in New Hampshire. I can get my fix of the mountains and the beach all in one day. I asked on my Insta Stories last week which is better – beach or mountain runs. Silly question, right? The answer is obviously both. They both do wonders for the heart and soul.
Lately…I was reminded how delicious Chocolate Almond Butter Nice Cream is. Thankfully, we have an endless supply of ripe bananas in the freezer.
Lately…I’ve been loving being training plan free. I’m happy that I’m running but there’s nothing that has me excited to seriously train for it. Sure, I’m out running with intentions of doing certain workouts but it’s not written down. I’m winging it and I’m completely fine with that. I used to love a good training plan. After years of following one, it’s freeing to just do whatever I want.
Lately…I’ve been loving my new Koala Clip. I had seen it floating around social media and was thrilled to give it a try when Kristina sent me one. Made by a mother runner who wanted something to carry her phone in while she ran, she dreamed up this handy little pocket. I was skeptical that I’d like it but it really does hold your phone in place with no bouncing. And it really is water resistant. I totally forgot that I was wearing it during the Loon Mountain Race and dumped water cups over my head multiple times. My phone was completely dry!
Lately…I’ve been loving braiding my hair into two French Braids for runs. My hair is in this weird in between length where I can’t really pull it all up into a high ponytail and a low ponytail won’t hold the front pieces. The two braids does the trick for keeping my hair off my face. Super weird, but it’s one of my biggest pet peeves to see people run with their long hair down. It annoys me so much because I hate that feeling. Anyone else have that problem?
Lately…All I’m craving is some version of my Kale Blueberry Superfood Salad. And chips. I can’t get enough of salty chips. I’m blaming all the sweating I’ve been doing from the heat and humidity.
Lately…I’m sad that it’s the middle of July. Seriously. I have been in a panic when I looked at the calendar and realized the kids will be back in school in less than 6 weeks. We still have so much we need to do! I haven’t even gone paddle boarding yet or even a SUP yoga class. That needs to change asap.
Lately…I’m super excited that Ron and I will be hitting up some mountains in the next few weeks for long hikes in the Whites. It’s been at least 9 years since we’ve done a long hike because…kids. Anything longer than 3-4 miles and the complaints are too much to bear.
