Another month down. Seriously, time needs to stop moving so fast. I get sick thinking that it’s only 1 month till September.
My parents arrived last night so I’m just popping in with a quick look back at some of my favorite posts from July. I’ve got really, really GREAT guest posts lined up for you all to enjoy throughout the next week. Please give them lots of love while I’m recharging and relaxing!
Without further ado, let’s take a look back at July.
I’m all about being outside as much as possible especially during the summer. Why not declare your independence from the gym this summer and take your workouts to the backyard, the park or anywhere. Fresh air is good for the soul. Six no equipment needed workouts to get your heart rate up and your sweat flowing.
After VCM, my mileage dropped as I took a break from running to tend to my foot. Unfortunately, my tummy and mind still wanted to eat like I was training. It was time to get back to “normal” eating and cut back on the treats. I still like my sweets but wanted something with no added sugar (except from the dates) and was full of ooey gooey chocolateness (totally just made up those words BTW). Definitely a winner!
Amanda came up with the brilliant idea to have a link up party of favorite runs. Of course, being the Pisces that I am, my favorite route is along the seacoast. The views are breathtaking and the salty air is invigorating, even if it’s a headwind in February that makes it feel like you are moving at a snail’s pace. Come along on with me on my favorite run!
Shakira has been right all along – the hips definitely don’t lie when it comes to running and injuries. After having a physical therapy evaluation, my foot pain was determined to be from my weak right hip. Who knew? I thought I was doing all the right moves but learned that even the basics are crucial for strength.
Like the dawning of a new day, returning to running after an injury is a fresh start. As I started off on my first “long run” after given clearance to return to running, I started thinking about the past and where I was 2 months ago. I quickly realized you can’t look back if you want to move forward. That was then. This is now. I’m in charge of direction of the story.
What was one of your favorite things in July?
