Happy High Five Friday!
5 from Instagram
1 ) Morning run goals
2 ) I’m still working on my first unassisted pull up! I’ve made some progress but it still seems like it’s so far off. Why is it so freakin’ difficult?
3 ) Snow covered trails make my heart sing!
4 ) Days on the mountain with my crew. I love that the kids are getting more adventurous every week.
5 ) That morning (headlamp) glow.
5 4 great reads (I didn’t get a lot of leisurely computer reading this week!)
1 ) Record Setting Explorer Hits Back at Men Who Say She Belongs in the Kitchen – If only I had this determination at 16! Jade holds the record as the youngest person to ever complete the polar hat-trick by reaching the North and South Poles and crossing Greenland. Phenomenal, right? Of course, some internet trolls had to weigh in on the subject and tell her she belonged in the kitchen not setting records. Her response is fantastic.
2 ) What It’s Really Like to Spend Months in a Coma – Wow. I can’t even begin to imagine any of this. But what the author says at the end is a great reminder for all of us: “We can’t control life’s unexpected twists, only our reactions to them. Finding gratitude in the midst of even the toughest times is a gift from the heart, both for the sender and receiver. Sometimes a small shift in perspective can change the course of your life.”
3 ) The 8 Stages of Marathon Running – This is from a few years ago but it popped up on my FB feed last week and I could help but giggle at every single one.
4 ) Has Instagram Come Full Circle – Instagram has always been my favorite form of social media. Over the past year, it’s changed quite a bit. And not for the better. Of course, I like pretty pictures but I think the blurry, real life photos are pretty in their own way too. What do you guys think – Do you like Insta to look pretty and neat or more real?
What would you like to High 5 today?
