Happy High Five Friday!

I’m excited to be heading up to Cape Elizabeth today to pick up my bib for the Beach to Beacon 10K.  A big thanks to Cabot Cheese for asking me to run as part of their Cabot Fit Team.  I’ll be looking Seriously Sharp in their singlets. 4 ) Julie and I had to stop and snap a couple of pics from our trail run yesterday as we got a glimpse of the sun while going through a field.  So pretty!

1 ) Ugly is the New Pretty – I love this post because I’m most certainly guilty of it.  I want that “pretty” picture where my form looks good. But why not show the grit and the ugly?  Because isn’t that what running mostly is?

2 ) Happiness Was on the Other Side of Letting Go – Sometimes when you are lost and unsure of what your next step is, you should just let go of what you “should” be doing. Allowing yourself that freedom may be the missing piece to your happiness.

3 ) The Critique of the Female Trail Runner – Alternative title : The Critique of the Female Runner. I think I shared this before but it was republished yesterday and needs to be brought up again. And again.  Ladies – why are we so critical of each other.  Just stop it.  If a girl is running with a sports bra on only, is she trying to impress the guys.  Would you say a guy who is running with his shirt off trying to impress the ladies.  Hell no. So just stop.  Please.

4 ) Do It for the Way It Makes You Feel – Working out shouldn’t be about weight loss alone.  Do it for the other wonderful things that it does for your body, mind and soul.

5 ) Sustaining a Lifetime Passion for Your Sport – It’s easy to get wrapped up in the numbers game.  It’s always a rush against the clock no matter what sport. Burn out can happen and you may your find yourself out of love with it.  Here’s great tips on how to make it a lifetime love.
