I’ve got the quadruple whammy of good news today.

It’s Friday. Yay!

I ran 3 miles pain free yesterday. Yay!

It’s St. Patrick’s Day. Yay!

It’s my birthday. Yay!

I’m kicking off my 39th year on a good note. That definitely deserves a High Five Friday!

1 ) Snowstorm running.  It’s funny that I had absolutely no desire to do run in the blizzard that dumped on us this week. I am SO over all things winter.

2 ) Waffles for breakfast. Easy like Sunday morning.

3 ) Daylight savings time – I love you in the evening, hate you in the morning.  It’s so freakin’ dark in the morning. I can’t wait till the long summer days of sunrise at 5 a.m. It makes the mornings so much more enjoyable.

4 ) New Saucony spring gear!  I’m absolutely loving the prints and colors.  Definitely puts me in a springy mood. And I think I need to order THESE crops.  So cute!

5 ) After seeing my PT Thursday morning, he gave me permission to test out a short run.  You know you have a PT that works with runners a lot because he quickly gave me a specific number to run.  He knows for distance runners, short could mean anywhere from 5-30 miles. Lol!

1 ) Why You Should Never Date a Runner – This post is a couple years old but it is all still relevant.  You could easily change date to marry and still have the same situation.  When Ron and I first met, I wasn’t a runner.  I wonder if he still would have married me if he knew what was coming down the road.  I know he hangs on every word I say when I talk about running. Lol. For better or worse baby!

2 ) What Would Americans Rather Do Than Run a Marathon?Allie shared this post earlier in the week and I knew I had to share it as well. It blows my mind that people would rather watch C-span for 24 hours than run a marathon.  Or that you’d have to pay them over $200,000 to run 26.2 miles.  I’m guessing the respondents of the survey were not runners.  Lol!

3 ) 5 Steps to Becoming an Instagram Running Sensation – This post is so spot on!  I was doubled over laughing at every single point even though I’m completely guilty of it all.  Except #blessed or #soblessed.  Never used either of those and don’t plan on it anytime soon.  What about you – Are you guilty?

4 ) Life In A Day – I’ve had so many friends share this recently that I knew I had to watch it.  Even if you have zero plans on running an ultra, you will be motivated by these 4 women featured in this video.

5 ) Stop Freaking Out About Sugar – I’ve always like Alexis for her recipes but her recent shift towards honest posts make me like her even more.  If you only read one post from the 5 that I share today, make it this one.

“Scrolling through Facebook will have you believing you might as well smoke a cigarette before eating anything with high fructose corn syrup. Or better yet…a brownie made with GLUTEN (insert mortified emoji here). The fear mongering has reached another level of ridiculousness. Eating pretty much anything has become such an anomaly that we can barely listen to our own bodies anymore.”

  4. Happy happy birthday! And hooray for pain free miles! Thanks for the links – the sugar article was fantastic. So true. I don’t eat a lot of sweets, but I’m not going to say no to a donut or chocolate chip cookie if I want one. Have a wonderful birthday celebration!
