High Five Friday July 1 2016 happyfitmama.comHappy High Five Friday!

Want to get in on spreading good news? You can find all the details HERE. Have fun with it and do your own thing. Just make sure it’s GOOD things.

It’s that time of the month when I exclaim that I can’t believe it’s ______ month again. But seriously, how is it July?!?! Time really needs to slow down. It’s going to be snowing before we know it!

5 from Instagram – I share more pics on Instagram. Are you following me? Please do!

An East Coast sunset over the water. It’s a rare treat but always a favorite!

Of course I had to do a little beach yoga after my run to the beach while we were at the Cape last week.

This is the doggie version of smiling wide. Cooper was in his happy place.

Sweat fest runs were the name of the game this week.

Yeah I bought the Mt. Washington sweatshirt. And then a week later I was somewhere onthe beach.

5 Things

Tell My Pacers, I Have Legs – Anyone who runs ultra’s is a mega rock star to me. You not only have to be in great physical shape but your mind has to be in even better shape. I love Devon’s store of her 3rd place finish at Western States. “It wasn’t a perfect day, but I was making one hell of a lemonade out of the lemons I’d been dealt.”

96 Year Old Gets Faster at Mt. Washington Road Race – The joke between my friends and I doing Mt. Washington this year was – I can’t let the 96 year old beat me! We better hustle if his race times continue to fall. This year he cut 5 minutes off his time. That’s amazing!

New Found Confidence – I can’t say that I will be running sans shirt anytime soon. But bravo to those who can find confidence in it.

The Practice and How It’s Changed Me – I can echo a lot of what Jen had to say in this post in honor of International Yoga Day last week. Yoga is so much more than stretching. It changes your life.

How to Love Not Loathe the Long Run – Sometimes it’s good to run alone. Sometimes you need some company from your running friends. In the long run it’s all about this -> “Surround yourself with good friends, be grateful for the ability to keep moving forward, embrace the beauty of the world around you, and you can make it to the end with a smile on your face.”

If you are in the States, have a great long holiday weekend! And happy Canada Day to my neighbors to the North!

  1. Thinking about that 95 year old makes me smile. It makes me think of my sister, who is not a runner, but has done a few 5ks. One year she did the Turkey Trot we put on and afterward told me, “I thought I was doing really good until an old man with a cane passed me!” Still cracks me up.
