ME! ME! ME!
I am not a 3 squares type of gal. I need a mid morning and afternoon snack. If not, I become quite dangerous. I’ve always been that way no matter what I eat for breakfast or lunch.
My kids are just the same. I swear over the holiday break from school, I heard “I’m hungry!” at least every hour. My kids’ are quite active – like all kids should be. They need fuel for all that energy.
I’m pretty selective about the snacks I eat and feed my family. I look very closely at ingredients and nutritional information before buying a product. I usually like to make at least one type of snack in my meal prep for the week. It’s something easy for me to grab for my work lunch bag and the kids’ school snacks. But sometimes the weekends get busy and I don’t have the time to get it done.
Times like those, it’s nice to have an alternative that isn’t full of junk. I think I found some new favorites for the whole family to enjoy with Made in Nature snacks. They are perfect for healthy snack swaps.
One of my go to make-at-home snacks is sometime of energy bite or ball. It’s the perfect portable snack for little and big mouths. The whole family loves them! Well, the Figgy Pops did not disappoint. They were the hands down favorite of everyone. If you like Larabars, you’ll love these little energy balls flavored with dried cherries, organic figs, cacao nibs and rolled in coconut. I need to stock up on more of these!
I can’t wait to try Figgy Pops as fuel for a long run too.
Clusters of tart cherries, figs, pepitas, walnuts, cashews and almonds mixed with a maple balsamic vinegar. Need I say more? This bag was devoured by all of us. This was the perfect snack topping for yogurt. Or by the handful. Sooooooo good.
Toasted Coconut Chips
I’m really not a huge coconut fan. But these coconut chips were amazing. The Vietnamese Cinnamon was my favorite (also available in Italian Espresso). A super short ingredient list with tons of flavor. What more could you ask for when you want a big crunch? It answered my craving for something sweet after dinner.
