Happy, happy glorious Friday!
In celebration, I’m sharing my latest Friday Favorites.
I won my choice of a SuperLove Tee off of Instagram a few weeks ago. You guys, this is seriously the softest and most comfy tee I’ve ever own. If I could, I’d live in it! I love the message, the graphic and the cut. It was so hard to choose just one shirt. Check out Theresa’s Etsy shop. I bet you will want everything!
Way, way back in the day (think mid 90s), one of my favorite workout videos (VHS baby!) was a washboard abs workout from Crunch Gym. I remember my college roommates and I doing this video and swearing that we saw 6 pack abs immediately. Of course, we all know abs are made in the kitchen not with crunches but the exercises were great. When I was asked to try out the new CrunchLive.com, I was excited. I’m always looking for quick workouts to do at home. So far I’ve done the Yoga Body Sculpt a few times and love Barre Assets. For $9.99 a month you get a wide range of classes (Rear Attitude anyone?) with new content added each month. Perfect for when you are time crunched (haha – get it?) and want to get a good sweat at home or on the road.
The Summit Seeker
While I have no plans to get into ultra running any time soon (never say never though), I love reading running memoirs. Books from runners who get that running is so much more than exercise, get me fired up and inspired. The Summit Seeker is all about Vanessa living her dream – traveling the country with her boyfriend in their Rialta RV, running ultras, meeting new people, and chasing adventures. How cool is that?
Do It Yourself Dog Wash
My fur baby, Cooper, has come down with a nasty skin infection. No clue how it happened but he’s on antibiotics and was ordered to be bathed with a special soap every two weeks. For being a Lab, Cooper is not a fan of getting a bath and being in the water. It’s not fun to wrangle and basically sit on him when we try to do it at home. Plus, it’s such a mess with all the hair. The Do It Yourself Dog Wash is the BEST! No hair everywhere, no clogged drains, no wet dog smells. Whoever come up with the is idea is a genius! While Coop didn’t love it any better, it’s just a lot easier for us humans.
The WSJ’s “Get Over It” Column, Translated.
I’m sure by now you have heard about the WSJ article making fun of runner’s and how we like to brag, take selfies, buy running gear from running stores (the horror!), etc.
“Why would someone want to get up at 5 a.m. and run 10 miles adorned with fluorescent tape to avoid being struck by someone who has the good sense to use a car for a 10-mile journey?“
It’s actually quite funny that someone would feel compelled to write a whole article about it. Does my 26.2 sticker really bother you that much? What’s even funnier is Mark Remy’s retort in Runner’s World. In my opinion, Mr. Stafko needs to go for a run. Once the runner’s high hits, he’ll forget about all his anger. And then he’ll register for a race and go to one of those running store places.
It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of nut and/or seed butters. My day is not complete unless I have a spoonful a day. I hit the mother load when I won a three pack of Nuttzo recently (I’ve been on a serious winning streak lately when it comes to drawings!). Can I just say that the dark chocolate variety is totally like eating raw brownie batter? Holy yum! I will be deeply saddened when the jar is empty. Nuttzo isn’t sold in any stores around me so I’ll be making an online purchase as soon as I run out. So. freaking. good.
Loved her before but love her even more after reading this –> Keeping It Real. You’ll love it (and her) and call it a favorite, too.
What have you been loving lately?
I was given a free 30 day subscription to CrunchLive.com to review. I was also sent The Summit Seeker in exchange for a review. All thoughts are my own.
