My Fall Race Schedule

Summer running leads to Fall racing.

I realized the other day that I haven’t really shared what my fall race schedule looks like. It’s going to be a full schedule!


Reach the Beach Relay – I’m so excited to finally be doing a relay. I’ve wanted to for years and now it’s happening. Cannon Mountain to Hampton Beach, 200 miles, two vans with 12 sweaty, stinky runners? What could be better! Team Miss Fits is ready to have some fun and to make some running memories.

ZOOMA Cape Cod Half Marathon – I don’t know if I’m more excited to finally meet Miss Fancy Nancy or to run a race on the Cape. Regardless, it’s going to be a good time. You should come run with us! Register with code CCAMB3 for 10% off the 10k or half marathon distance.


Baystate Marathon – This is still up in the air. I am unofficially in training for it but have not registered yet. I’m thinking this will be my goal race for the year. It’s the 4th fastest marathon in the country and it’s local. Win!

Honolulu Marathon – Yes, that’s right. I am going to Hawaii to run a marathon as part of 26 Strong! I am so beyond excited for this race. There were so many of us that wanted to do it, that Saucony and Competitor Magazine decided to make it a big ol’ party and invite all the teams. I don’t think all 13 are because of schedules, etc but a large portion are. Since this marathon is in December, with a 12+ hour travel day to get there, time difference, climate change, I’m looking at this as more of a fun race. I doubt any PR’s will be set so that is why I’m looking at Baystate too.

In addition to the above listed races, I’ve got three or four 5K’s as part of the local race series spaced throughout the Fall too. I’m trying hard to not go crazy and register for every single race out there. It’s very difficult especially when you have friends that are doing certain races, the race just sounds like fun or you are feeling so good with your running.

So you can see, I’ve got a lot to look forward to and a lot of hard work to do! I’m excited with where my running feet will take me in the next 5 months.

  1. DUDE!!! That’s AWESOME! Hawaii!!! Did I use enough exclamation points?!!! You must have been so psyched to get the news. But I have to tell you, I dislike seeing the word “fall” right now. No races on the calendar until adrenal fatigue and other issues are cleared up a bit but I am hoping for my favorite hilly 10K at the end of September.

  2. Hawaii sounds amazing! Good luck training for your races. I would love to run Cape Cod one day. This fall I have two halves and training primarily for NY. I have some 5Ks and 10Ks sprinkled in there as well.

  3. It is just too cool that you are running Honolulu! And I like your line up. Would love to do Reach the Beach sometime.

    I am actually feeling good enough that I may put a couple fall races on the schedule, but I am holding back for a few more weeks just to make sure it is a safe bet!

    1. Next year…Reach the Beach – you, me, Christine, Laura and whoever else we can rope into a team!?!?!?! Something to think about…

  4. Wow, Hawaii is an awesome race destination…..congrats on that. I ran the Baystate half last year, and found it to be a great course. It was flat and fast with tons of runners doing the full trying to qualify for Boston. I would highly recommend it to anyone local as a goal race.

  5. Honolulu Marathon!! Yippee!! Who cares if you PR. You’ll be in Hawaii! Be sure to soak up the scenery and stay after the race for some well-deserved beach time. If you have time, drive up to the North Shore. The surf is INSANE in winter, and you’ll see all the pros hitting the pipeline. I’m hoping to do some of my favorite trail races late this summer and fall and then try to find a good half to really train for.

  6. I haven’t planned my fall race schedule yet. I’m a little superstitious about that…I had my first DNS ever earlier this year because of my foot injury and that really hurt! I do have my eyes on a couple of races–a half in November most likely.

  7. Your schedule sounds great… especially Hawaii!! 😉 I’m in training for the Erie Marathon (PA, Presque Isle) on Sept 14th. It’s my last chance for the year to qualify for Boston 2015. Fingers crossed. I’ve got 63 seconds to shave off my time. 3rd time’s a charm, right??

  8. Hawaii will be awesome! It will probably be more fun too if you go into it for fun and having a goal race in Oct will be perfect! Nancy is so fun, you’ll love her! I’m jealous that you’ll get to do Reach the Beach (and that you get to go to Hawaii!), Ragnar was such a blast – sounds like a great fall lineup!

  9. Aha! So it’s Reach the Beach, then! That is fabulous! I’ve seen so many runners on social have fun doing that relay! I can’t wait to hear how it goes! And Honolulu marathon? WOW. I’m not sure I’d be able to handle running in Hawaii! Haha. After Wasatch Back, I seem to have gotten myself into trouble and signed up for THREE races in the span of like a day….I haven’t put any money down on any of them yet but I am verbally committed. Two are team relays and one is just a 5k this Friday! 😀 I’d really love to do the Long Beach Half Marathon in October but…I’m planning on doing a Ragnar trail relay the two days prior. Not sure that’s smart. lol.

  10. Want to hear something random? There was a chance I was going to do the Honolulu marathon this year. A bunch of my friends are doing it and it was going to be a party, but my Novemeber is busy with travel/racing that it just didnt work out.

    Would have been an epic selfie, right?

  11. Such an amazing race schedule! The Honolulu marathon sounds like it will be such an incredible experience! You must be so incredibly excited! good luck with all of your training. My schedule is packed too! You will love the Reach the Beach Relay. It is such a fun event. I’ve run it 6 or 7 times! Are there any other bloggers running with you?

  12. Hawaii!!!!! I’m so excited that you get to run the Honolulu marathon! Can I come be your sherpa?!? Love your race schedule. Wish I could have done Reach the Beach with you but schedules man. As I was running this morning, I kind of wish that I was running a fall half instead of one in the summer…what was I thinking? haha.

  13. Wow! Super jealous of your race schedule. I’m in MA and wanted to do the Zooma race but i’ts not going to fit into my schedule. I’m planning on running either the Baystate or the Smuttynose Half in October. I’m also super jealous of your 26 Strong opportunity to run in Honolulu. So fun!

  14. Love the schedule, and sooo jealous of Hawaii!! I think you are perfect for the 26strong project and I know you will have a wonderful time!

    My fall race schedule is Rochester Marathon (9/21) which is my goal race and my focus right now. I will also be running a half or 2 after that, and then St. Jude Memphis Marathon in December!
