Happy Friday everyone!
First, an update on my injury saga: I had my first physical therapy appointment on Wednesday. My PT determined that my right foot pain is stemming from a weak right hip. As Shakira said, “Hips don’t lie!” My right lower ab is also weaker. The bad news? No running for a couple more weeks. The good news? It’s totally fixable with strengthening and working on biomechanics. It all makes total sense to me. I’m kind of kicking myself for not having more hip strengthening exercises in my rotation given my structural makeup and injury history. I’ll share more info on Monday.
But since it’s Friday and I want to keep things fun, how ’bout a Fabulous Fitness Survey? This survey was floating around the blogging world back in June and I’m just now getting to it. I’m a sucker for these things so I had to do it.
So here we go!
1. What did you eat for breakfast?
2. How much water do you drink a day?
A lot. I’m always with a water bottle. I’m guessing at least 64+ ounces.
3. What is your current favorite workout?
Normally I would say running but *ahem* see first paragraph. Right now it’s the bike. Last week I even had the opportunity to go off road and get muddy on some single track. Haven’t done that in years!
4. How many calories do you eat a day?
No clue. I don’t count calories. I’m guessing around 2,000 more or less depending on what kind of day it is and if I’m running more.
5. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
I just picked up Blueberry Hemp Superfood Snacks and I’m loving them. The kids and I were munching on them after a quick trip to the health food store.
Other favorites are baked sweet potato with almond butter/cinnamon and apples w/ nut butter.
6. What do you usually eat for lunch?
Leftovers from the night before or a salad. I always bring my lunch to work so this makes it quick and easy.
7. What is your favorite body part to strength train?
Triceps or shoulders. I see the quickest results in either.
8. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
Back. I dislike the DOMS in my lats after a heavy day of lifting. Having a backache throws off everything.
9. What are your “bad” food cravings?
One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone calls food “bad” or says “they’ve been bad” because they ate something. Unless you are talking about pink slime or other junk, let’s get rid of that term, k?
If you are talking just cravings, then I’d say salty chips/crackers and brownies. I don’t discriminate between sweet and salty – I love it all equally.
10. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
Just a multivitamin.
11. How often do you eat out?
We rarely eat out. If we do it’s maybe twice a month and usually it’s for lunch. Dinner out with two toddlers is always a flop. They are usually getting tired, don’t want to eat and want to run around instead. Not enjoyable.at.all.
13. Who is your biggest supporter?
My support crew of course!
14. Do you have a gym membership?
Nope! Been membership free for over 3 years. I miss it at times but it just doesn’t fit in with my schedule right now.
15. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
Lately it’s been 6.5 hours. Even when I try to get more I naturally wake up at 4:30 or 5. Sick, huh?
16. Do you have a “cheat”day?
Another one of my pet peeves. I believe in moderation and not deprivation. Every day is a cheat day for me.
17. Do you drink alcohol?
Not as much as I used to. Knowing that I’ll feel crappy in the morning even after 1 drink is enough to stop me. If I do drink it’s usually wine now. Although a nice salty margarita sounds really, really good.
18. Do you have a workout buddy?
Sadly, no! I’m still trying to find a replacement running buddy. I know there has to be other crazy people out there in my neighborhood who want to run at 4:30!
19. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to a healthy lifestyle?
My self-esteem. Being fit and strong makes me more confident. I’m willing to set the bar high even if it means I may not reach it all the time.
20. What was the last healthy thing you did?
Did my hip strengthening exercises! Three times a day, baby.
