I’ve never been a supplement person. I always thought that it you eat right, you are getting all the nutrients you need. If you started adding supplements, it just gave you expensive pee.

I remember reading reviews about EnduroPacks from a couple other bloggers (Tina – an elite runner and John – a Ironman/Triathlete). They raved about what it did for their recovery time. But then I forgot about it because I’m not an elite runner or training my ass off with 3 sports.

But then EnduroPacks reached out to me to try their nutrition supplement package to aid in recovery. As I read Jason’s (EnduroPacks guy) email, I had an ice pack wrapped on my left knee and another on my right ankle. Every morning I was waking up feeling like I was at least 90 years old. Everything ached after every workout.

Marathon training was kicking my butt and I wasn’t even in the thick of it!

So I thought, why not give it a try? Obviously I needed a little help in recovery.

I will admit that I went in 100% skeptical. I thought it was just another gimmick of something you absolutely had to have to perform better.

The EnduroPacks include:

  • A pre-workout liquid multivitamin to maintain proper health
  • A concentrated electrolyte spray for your water bottle, used during workouts (I mostly used it after) to replace the nutrients lost during exercise
  • A post-workout essential amino acid patch that you wear on your stomach or arm to aid muscle recovery
  • Post-workout L-Glutamine workout recovery tablets to reduce muscle soreness

So after 30 days, did I notice a difference in my recovery?

Running 21.6 miles on Saturday followed by a 5K race that wasn’t too far off from a PR for me?

Yes. I think it has made a world of difference!

After about 2 weeks of taking the regime of products, I remarked to Ron that I was feeling really good, especially in the morning. The aches disappeared. You could say that my body just adapted to the training. But I think EduroPacks helped quite a bit too.

I still feel soreness. For instance, after Reach the Beach, I compared the soreness to worse than running a marathon. The DOMS lasted 2 days. By Tuesday I was back to running. I even did a 10 mile tempo run with little difficulty. I’d say that was a quick recovery!

I plan to continue to use EnduroPacks while I am in marathon training. I need all the help I can get as I am wrapping up the Baystate Marathon training cycle and continuing on with Honolulu Marathon training.

  2. Holy moly that is a fast recovery time if you were able to run a marathon and then almost PR. This sounds like a great product!

  3. I’ve started trying to remember to add L-Glutamine back into my recovery. My problem is that if I don’t set it out, I totally forget. My recovery is mostly stretching and trying to stay moving throughout the day. Though, after long runs on the weekend, I may become a nap person 😉

  4. I’m training for my first marathon after the birth of my twins and have typically just done ice baths, rolling, and refueling so this type of supplement intrigues me!

  5. This post is so timely. I just did my first 25 K trail run and I feel like I have been run over by a bus!!!!! I am on day 3 post run and still feel like crap! This produce looks really awesome and I am going to have to budget some money to try it out. I want to do a marathon but after the way I have been feeling this week, have had some serious doubts about my ability to train for it.

  6. Thanks for the review – haven’t heard of the product but it seems like something my husband could really use during marathon training! Hydrating/fueling properly right after the run as well as stretching immediately after and the next days even if its a rest day is how I recover. And laying mindlessly on the couch reading or watching TV :)
