It’s no secret I love oatmeal. I eat it for breakfast almost every single day even when it’s 90 degrees and 100% humidity. It gets my day started and makes my morning complete.

I’m not the only one on the oatmeal train in my family. My kids are fans and request it at least three times a week for breakfast. And most recently Ron jumped on the bandwagon. Old fashioned oats aren’t his thing but when I introduced him to steel cut oats, he changed his mind. See, Mom does know best!

After seeing it around the blogosphere, I was super excited to give it a try. You might think that all oats are the same. Not so much. Coach’s Oats has reinvented oatmeal.  You probably know about steel cut, quick oats or rolled oats. ( HERE’s the difference if you are interested).  Coach’s Oats are prepared in an entirely new way. The groats are toasted to bring the natural sugars to the surface of the oat, then cracked into small pieces. This patented Cracked n’ Toasted™ process means that Coach’s Oats are never mushy, always naturally delicious and cook in just 3 to 5 minutes on a stovetop or in the microwave.

My kids’ wake up looking for breakfast. Some days, it can’t get on the table fast enough. Our mornings got a little more hectic with school in session now. I’ve heard a lot about overnight oats but never tried it out for myself. I thought maybe my kids would get into it as something they could grab and eat right out of the fridge, on their own.  Putting everything together is so simple. Just mix it together the night before, place it in the fridge and enjoy in the morning. And the mix-in and topping possibilities are endless. It’s a win for everyone!

Easy Overnight Oats
 
Ingredients
  • 2 cups milk of your choice (I used Unsweetened Almond Milk)
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp Chia seeds
  • Cinnamon, as much as you want (optional)
  • 1¼ cups Coach's Oats or Old Fashioned Oats
  • Topping ideas:
  • Nut/Seed butter
  • Fresh fruit
  • Dried fruit
  • Honey
  • Nuts or seeds
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Divide mix between mason jars with lids.
  3. Cover and place in the fridge overnight.
  4. Top with your favorite toppings.
  5. Enjoy cold or microwave for 30-60 seconds.

  1. My favorite toppings are flax seeds, blueberries and almonds. Yum. I really do need to try doing overnight oats! These sound delicious!

  2. I eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast and my go to has banana, walnuts, dried cranberries, chia seeds, flaxseeds and honey.

  3. No oatmeal is complete without nut butter and fruit! I have several different combos that I use to have lots of variety.

  4. I’d LOVE to win this Giveaway for Coach’s Oats!!! I’ve also seen them through the blogosphere and would love to try them. My favorite topping for oatmeal is this combination: Honey, almond butter, cinnamon a dash of cocoa powder and banana slices.

  5. Ok. Have to say I’m not been a fan of oatmeal in the past. But I’m trying to clean up my diet (better food in, better running results, right?), so I’d give these a try. I love cinnamon and chocolate, so maybe a sweet topping might help me!

  6. It’s so hard to pick just one topping…I feel like the possibilities are endless, I’m a total oatmeal junkie! I love walnuts in my oatmeal, agave nectar, peanut butter, any berry, and apples. Ok, that’s my favorite topping. 😉
