Last summer, I had the pleasure of tagging along on the Stonyfield Farm Tour. It was a life changing two days of touring beautiful farms in Vermont and learning more about organic dairy farming. I have been a fan of Stonyfield for years but that trip made me an even bigger fan. From speaking to the farmers who provide milk for their products, it was even more apparent that Stonyfield really does care about the impact of their product from start to finish. It’s not some fancy tagline that is slapped on the side of their yogurt cups.
Stonyfield is now a member of B Corps
. That’s great but what does it mean?B Corps
are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.B Corps
are better companies – better for workers, better for communities and better for the environment. B Corps companies are more likely to give paid professional development opportunities to their employees and paid time off for volunteerism in their community.Doesn’t that sound like the perfect way to build a strong community?
There is now more than 1,600 Certified B Corps
from 42 countries and over 120 industries working together to redefine success in business. To celebrate joining B Corps
, Stonyfield wanted to spread the good word about some of the other companies who are members.Preserve – Love these toothbrushes! They are made from recycled yogurt cups.
I’m happy to know that a lot of the companies that are B Corp
are ones that I routinely buy for our house. This was my first time trying Pukka tea. I’ve been trying to add more tumeric in my diet for it’s anti-inflammation benefits. It tasted great especially over the weekend when it was so frigid outside.
Pete & Gerry’s Organics are the only eggs we buy.
The King Arthur Sprouted Whole Wheat flour was new to me so I wanted to put it to the test.
My kids are huge waffle lovers. I think they would eat them every day if they could. During the week, it’s hard to squeeze in the extra time to whip up a batch. That’s why weekends were made for waffles in my house! This recipe is simple and tastes great. We like to top our waffles with Stonyfield yogurt for an extra protein punch.
I found a recipe on the King Arthur website and modified it slightly to my preferences.
- 1.5 cups flour (I used King Arthur Sprouted Wheat)
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 TBSP coconut sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1¼ cup organic milk ( I use Stonyfield)
- ⅓ cup buttered flavored coconut oil or regular coconut oil, melted
- 1 tsp pure vanilla
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, yogurt, maple syrup, fresh fruit, nut butter
- Preheat waffle iron.
- Whisk together dry ingredients in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix together wet ingredients.
- Add wet ingredients to dry, stirring till just combined.
- Let batter sit for 10 minutes.
- Spray waffle iron as needed.
- Pour amount of batter on center of waffle iron. I use a ¼ cup but waffle irons will differ.
- Bake according to waffle iron instruction.
- Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!

What?!?! You need a waffle maker. We have a Cuisinart and love it!
I am so excited about Stonyfield’s B Corp status! These waffles look so delicious – we made pancakes with the sprouted grain flour and yogurt this weekend and they were delicious. I do think I like waffles a bit more than pancakes, although not the cleaning process!
Pancakes are next on my list to make with the flour. I thought it was going to be heavier but it’s actually quite light. Our waffle maker is super easy to clean up. Maybe that’s why I like it so much?
I LOVE waffles! These look pretty amazing!
i had no idea about BCorp, I hope more companies will move towards such values, we’d be in such better place. I am definitely a waffle person.
Pancakes for me! although those waffles look delicious. I might try them next weekend:)
Let me know if you do!
I like waffles if I’m just making a small batch, but when I’m making them for 4 kids plus my husband and myself, making pancakes is SOOOO much easier and quicker! This recipe looks delicious though, pinning for future making
