If We Had Coffee…

Starbucks - happyfitmama.com

It’s been a long 6 months since we had a coffee date.

It was perfect timing that Jill, Nikki and Lynda are hosting the new Ultimate Coffee Date starting today. From now on, every Saturday we can grab a coffee (iced for me please!) and catch up.

If we had coffee…I’d tell you that I’ve got Spring fever bad. I can’t get enough of being outside in the sunshine. This winter was brutal mentally. Since it’s finally warming up a bit, the snow is melting quickly and the sun is shining, I feel like some weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I can finally breathe.

If we had coffee…I’d also gush to you about an amazing opportunity that has come my way. I’d fill you in on all the details because we’d be talking in private. Don’t worry bloggy friends, I’ll share like crazy when I’m given the OK to spread the word!

If we had coffee…We’d also chat about what we are doing with our careers. I’d tell you I’m at a standstill and looking for options. It’s hard to take a leap when the safe route is easier and known. I’m looking for more happy in my life and I think I need to explore some options soon. I need to take a hint from Home Depot – Less talking. More Doing.

If we had coffee…We’d talk about what’s going on with our families. I’d tell you that the 3’s are hard work. The potty training, the sass, attitudes, not listening…some days are great, others I need something stronger than coffee at the end of the day! Then I’d share that I’ve heard the 4’s are worse. Did you know they can be the F-ing 4s??? Great…

If we had coffee…I’d tell you that I’m getting better about taking time for myself. I’m getting my hair cut today and it’s only been 3 months. Yay me! What do you think I should do – Shorter? Grow it out? Color?

Then I’d look at my watch and say I need to go.

We should do this more often. Shall we meet again next month?

Have a great Saturday!

  1. I can’t wait to hear your great news. I would tell you that depending on the child, 5 may not be so fabulous either. But I would assure you that 3 was definitely the worst. I would definitely complain about the weather which has been dreary all week. I would also mention that I never want to see March 2014 again and am praying that April 2014 hits an upswing!

  2. I’m with you on being over winter. I just want warm weather again! This winter was just awful for runners. Even yesterday it snowed out for an April Fools Run. I heard low 60s next week which I am super excited for! Thanks for having coffee with us this morning! 🙂

    1. It’s crazy but I take time to workout, run, eat right but the simple things like getting my haircut more than once every 6 months get tossed by the wayside.

    1. I’m glad that most people are saying 4s are better. It’s reassuring that my kids will eventually be a little human. At least till they are teenagers!

  3. Can’t wait to hear the exciting news! I’ll be glad when our spring wind stops and I’m going to ignore your terrible 3 comment because I have all that to look forward to still and I want to be naive and pretend my kids will be perfect! 😉

  4. Totally there on the Spring Fever! Mother Nature seems to be toying with us, warming it up just a bit, giving us a peek at the sunshine, then BAM, snow and storms again! It’s just cruel.

My munchkins are past the 3’s and 4’s (youngest is 8) … I’m trying to remember if we struggled at that age. That’s the great thing, it all fades away and I only remember every age as being wonderful!

  5. If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I’m happy to meet you and I’m excited to hear of your news and of your “standstill”. I’d tell you I’m in the same spot, trying to reinvent myself in my blog, and trying to find a spot for me in a life thing.
I’d tell you good luck with the 3’s, one day we will look back and laugh, right?????

  6. Ummm, yes. The 4s have been the f-ing 4s in our house. I hate to say it. But I love that spring is here and love even more that you have this incredible opportunity in front of you. Can’t wait to hear about it!! And yes, we would commiserate over the career/job situation for sure!

  8. While you are rocking the spring, I’m rocking the autumn, I’m seriously enjoying the cooler weather. It’s just a shame we haven’t had a lot of rain, it’s still so very dry.
    Thanks for the coffee date.
Hair must be on the mind, I just had mine cut recently, and I know Jill wants to cut her’s too. I think you would totally rock some sandy blonde streaks. You’ll have to show us a photo when it’s done.
